In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, Autism Wonders engaged in several programs and community outreach/event, including a public forum organized by Empire Radio/Radio 360, which we helped sponsor. 1/3

As my birthday present, I donated Gh₵4000 to the family on Sunday as a small start-up capital for the mother who wants to start a small trade in their community. The kids were lovely; I enjoyed my time with them and will surely revisit them

This Sunday, I was privileged to spend my birthday with the Sekyi family, who resides in a small village near Kyebi in the Eastern region. The family has 8 children, two of which are special needs (suspected Autism and possibly, other conditions)

The challenges of caring for two special needs children have caused the family a lot of financial stress, and sometimes struggles to afford their basic needs.

Happy World Autism Awareness Month. Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability in the world, with an increasing rate of 10-17% each year. Currently, 1 in 36 children lives with autism. So more than ever, it is critical that we all become a part of this awareness. 💙

We will continue to monitor these parents to ensure that they put all the time and energy into the the work are are set to do so they can earn income to sustain themselves and their special children.

On September 8th, our team concluded the first phase of our outreach project with autism families in Nauli, a small town in the Western region of Ghana.

In the end, we presented one refrigerator, one deep freezer, and three different sets of money as start-up capital for 3 single parents of children with autism to help them commence their own small businesses.

Autism wonders donated children’s swim kits, swim wear, aquatic toys and a few swimming essentials to @angelfishga they diligently provide swimming lessons/services for the special needs population💙. We appreciated what they do for the autism community here in Gwinnett County.
