Tomorrow is a special day for six schools around the district as they will be honoured by the CHDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Wongama Gela, for performing exceptionally well in their 2019 matric results. People in Sports and Environmental Management fields will be awarded as well.

A report by the Advisory Panel on Land suggests to me that we may need to accept that the pace of redistribution of land in our country will remain at this pace for many years to come. I should be disappointed but for some reason, I am not surprised.

We have decided to focus on all our plants and prioritized their refurbishment, maintenance and operations. To this extent, budget is set aside and scm processes are already in motion.

CHDM is taking the sewer spillage matter of Cradock seriously. To solve the problem a contractor has been appointed and is already on site making repairs. Furthermore a scientist has been hired to work on the rehabilitation process of the river.

Chris Hani District Municipality is currently hosting a delegation from the Republic of China, Linfen City Municipality led by Mayor Mr Dong Yibing. The delegation is visiting the district to explore potential cooperation in various aspects.
