What you achieved in this operation is nothing short of heroic — a shining example of justice prevailing against darkness, and a powerful reminder that South Africa stands firm as a nation that refuses to be a safe haven for fugitives who commit unimaginable crimes elsewhere.

To the dedicated teams in the SAPS Interpol National Central Bureau, Crime Intelligence, the Organised Crime Investigation Unit, and every officer, analyst, and support staff member involved: thank you. Thank you for your tireless intelligence work, your coordination across borders, and your commitment to acting with speed and precision. In a world where evil sometimes seems to slip through the cracks, you refused to let that happen. You tracked a man wanted for the alleged murder of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma (42), and their precious daughters, Natalie (15) and Nala (5), whose lives were tragically taken in the UK. Your actions have brought a measure of closure and accountability for a family shattered by horror, and for communities mourning innocent lives lost.

I am deeply moved by your professionalism and humanity in this case. You didn’t just arrest a suspect — you sent a clear message to the world: “South Africa is not a hiding place for fugitives.” That statement, echoed by your spokespeople, fills me with pride in our police service. It reassures law-abiding citizens, both South African and from across the globe, that justice knows no borders when good men and women in uniform stand ready to uphold it. In the face of complex international investigations, you demonstrated excellence, unity, and unwavering resolve. Your multidisciplinary approach — blending intelligence, fieldwork, and global partnerships — deserves the highest praise.
To the brave officers who located and apprehended him: I can only imagine the pressure and risks involved in such operations. You carry the weight of protecting not just our streets, but the moral fabric of society. Your courage restores faith in institutions that too often face criticism. Today, because of you, a dangerous individual is off the streets and facing the consequences of his alleged actions. Families in the UK, and all who followed this heartbreaking story, can breathe a little easier knowing he is in custody.

SAPS, you are the thin blue line that separates chaos from order. In a time when trust in public service can sometimes waver, moments like this rebuild it brick by brick. Your work honors the memory of the victims — a mother and her two beautiful daughters whose lights were extinguished far too soon. It also honors the thousands of everyday heroes in your ranks who wake up each day ready to serve and protect, often without fanfare or adequate recognition.

I pray for your continued safety, strength, and success in all your endeavors. May God bless and guide every member of the SAPS as you face the daily battles against crime.
