BREAKING: Elon Musk's net worth has just surpassed $1 trillion, again.
With that money we could make college completely free in America for over a decade.
If California’s “billionaire tax” passes, it will amount to the first time that a government in the U.S. has successfully taxed the assets, rather than the income, of extremely rich people as a class. https://t.co/mtMLp4ar1R
Finished my weekend tinkering making a microphone for dictation and voice mode!

Eh, I think the public panic over nuclear was comparable.
The public outrage over housing being built anywhere near them, or any housing over two stories tall anywhere, has also been a constant my adult life.
This kind of public panic is something I have never seen in living memory. Probably nothing like it since the Industrial Revolution. We seem to have adapted to other innovations like computerization, process optimization, the car, and air travel without this kind of mass panic.
I’m a competent adult. Why do I need an “AI agent” to check into a flight for me?
I’m literate. Why do I need an “AI agent” to read and write emails for me? Also, I don’t get so many emails that I can’t answer them myself.

Treating it as a scandal is stupid.

My favorite part of this article is one of the visiting scholars pointing out that by Olah’s logic he is by far the worst slaver in history and he must immediately give up this abhorrent and immensely lucrative project, which anthropic people ignored.
I would give almost anything to have been in the room to watch the guy whose job it was to convince a Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas graduate that his boss has successfully matched God and created a soul.
I was briefly into mountaineering in my early thirties, at like a tourist level, and now am watching a guide I spent a month with in Africa as the central figure in an Apple documentary. 👀👀👀👀👀
BREAKING: The US 30Y Note Yield rises above 5.60% for the first time since June 2002.
That’s another +36 basis points this month alone.
8% mortgages will arrive next week.
Amazing.
These researchers found that there's a spike in Bitcoin activity around the time foreign aid money goes out.
Somewhere between 2 and 6 cents of every dollar of World Bank foreign aid disbursements got siphoned off into crypto wallets:
