The day we buried “Africa”… and Bitcoin showed up at the funeral 💀
On May 9, 2026, at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg, the @WordNSound Poetry League turned into pure theatre with “Africa: The Funeral” by @ExonumiaAfrica.
Poets mourned the old money system through raw spoken word, symbolism, and funeral imagery… then Bitcoin entered the story as poetic finance — a tool for African creative sovereignty.
Big salute to @440UrPp, @jabulanijakes, @rakgatjane, the @ExonumiaAfrica team, and @WordNSound for pushing culture, art, and financial conversations in a completely different way.
Poetry teaching Bitcoin better than some conferences? 👀
