@netflix Come on, Netflix. What's with the prices for the KPop Demon Hunters merch? $42 for a poster, $49 for a phone case, $42 for a HAT. Are you serious???
@JALwrites This pisses me off so much. If an "author" is too stupid to come up with their own ideas, they don't deserve to debut let alone thrive in this industry.
Authors beware. This literary agent is encouraging the use of AI (beyond spellchecking/grammar) for the creative process. #amquerying#publishing@AuthorsGuild
This is a ridiculous take. It absolutely is cheating to have AI help you by outlining and brainstorming. Where do you think AI is getting its outlining and brainstorming "ideas" from? Existing novels that it illegally sourced.
@BrandyVallance That's where I'm at. My second novel is objectively better and more marketable than my first novel that I queried over 200 times in 2017, yet it's getting far fewer responses. I'm self-publishing these two novels while writing a third. I've been querying for 8 years.
If you're encouraging "writers" to use AI for anything other than grammar and spellchecking, you should not be a literary agent. AI is theft and an insult to every author.
On using AI to write your book:
Unless youβre a genius-level prompt engineer, we can tell. AI scenes have a feelingβflat emotional texture, uncanny rhythm, lack of specificity. Readers notice too. Let AI support your process, never replace your voice.
A character in one of the Lemony Snicket books says, βWicked people never have time for reading. Itβs one of the reasons for their wickedness,β and I canβt help noticing that many of the most sinister figures in public life are vocal about never reading.
I wouldnβt want to live in a world where kids no longer read because I think every kid deserves to know the joy of pretending to be Redwall characters and having sword fights and building blanket forts and celebrating Bilbo Bagginsβs birthday with games and feasts.
@SketchesbyBoze The internet has become incredibly useless for research. It's just always trying to sell us something. If I try to research a niche period of architecture, I end up with Wayfair ads.

Americans crying about their anthem getting booed knowing full well itβs about the president threatening sovereign countries and theyre out here booing individual players and team being introduced #CANvsUSA
people at the 4 Nations game don't fucken get it - we aren't booing them or their players - we are fucking booing their stupid goddamn imbecilic president #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace#CANvsUSA
@EricLDaugh Why should Canada show any respect for a nation that keeps "joking" about annexing them and disrespecting their leaders? Do you seriously think USA would show Canada any respect if Canada threatened them with annexation? Be for fucking real.
@fordnation Remove their products and cut off Musk at the knees anyway. Tariffs or not, there should be consequences for this bullshit. Trump's going to keep pulling this crap if we don't go on the offensive economically and prove that his impulsive "decision-making" won't be tolerated.
