We hosted a series of round tables with Trades Union Councils, in which they presented their work supporting just transition locally and discussed shared challenges.

Coming into 2025, the Worker-Climate Project is taking on the legacy's of Labour for a Green New Deal's ambitious socialist climate politics. For more information, check our https://t.co/srkXa9bEXA
As the WCP, we're honouring this legacy by fighting for a worker-led transition
We had a really great time meeting so many committed rank and file trade unionists and sharing our project with you all. If you are a worker taking any kind of action around climate or transition issues in your industry, please fill in our workers' survey: https://t.co/fvpXaGTLO5
At @Troublem8kers earlier this month, The Worker Climate Project joined @WorkersinPales1, workers in the Aerospace & Shipbuilding and Higher Education sectors on panel discussion about politics in the workplace, specifically organising around climate and Palestine
We discussed different workplace tactics such as green bargaining, as well as the necessity of workers everywhere using their unique leverage to answer the call from Palestinian Trade Unions to dismantle links with Israeli occupation and genocide.
Minesh has been a strong supporter of a Green New Deal from the very start.
He's now one of the most important socialist voices in local government.
Councillors - vote now for him to represent you on the NEC 🗳
A crucial step in tackling the climate crisis and a huge win for grassroots campaigns who have spent recent years pressuring Labour to be bolder on the climate.
Now we need to aggressively phase out our existing O&G fields and commit to a just transition for impacted workers.
Labour's victory presents a historic opportunity to reverse 14 years of Tory misrule, but the relatively weak vote share means that any failure to improve peoples' lives by tackling economic and environmental crises we face will leave Starmer vulnerable in the next GE.
👷🏻♂️ Perfect example of what happens when workers aren’t put at the heart of the energy transition.
👷🏾♀️ Only a worker led, just transition will ensure no-one from the oil and gas industries are left behind.

Tackling climate change would transform this country:
📉 cheaper energy
🚊 proper public transport
👷 green, unionised jobs
🌳 access to nature
Labour cant afford to miss this historic opportunity. Time is running out.
Rishi Sunak wants to carry on extracting fossil fuels.
Keir Starmer espouses the benefits of clean energy, but he's abandoned public ownership of energy and abandoned his own £28bn green investment pledge.
Labour has to do so much more to make just energy transition a reality.
We’ve explained exactly what a public owned energy system would look like, and that how environmentally and economically damaging our current system is. We looked at:
⛽️ Generation
🏗️ Distribution
🏢 Retail

It is about time #energy production was brought back into #publicownership so that costs can be kept down for British manufacturers and costumers ensuring a fair deal for all. ➡️ https://t.co/h8xQRtASmP
Who’d have thought - a publicly owned energy company is actually very popular with voters. People want energy without profiteering shareholders. This is great.
Now to read the small print and understand what an ‘investment vehicle’ actually is… 🔍 🤯
5) The two campaign policies that have cut through unprompted are National Service and GB Energy. I've been surprised how often GB Energy has been brought up unprompted since the pledges by fairly non-politically engaged people, it's a surprisingly retail Labour policy
An 'investment vehicle' simply isn't enough. By propping up the private sector, Labour are losing any control over protecting workers rights and delivering a just transition for fossil fuel workers. We need an energy transition based on worker ownership.
"Well no it’d be an investment vehicle, not an energy company," Keir Starmer said of Great British Energy this morning.
The Conservatives are using the quote to call GBE "an energy company which won’t produce any energy".
