@LetsTrustJesus "My wife was raised Catholic and was strictly forbidden to own her own Bible" -- the passive voice hides the guilty. Who did the raising and forbidding? If she was forbidden (by her parents?) to own her own Bible, she was not raised a Catholic, at least not properly.
