Visited @WorkingGear today—an innovative #Vancouver not-for-profit supporting people re-entering the workforce with attire for construction or office work. Many orgs would do well to support their mission & support them thru a donation.
The folks at @WorkingGear provide (free!) work clothes, from suits to steel-toed boots, for new immigrants, ppl experiencing homelessness, ppl getting back into work, and more.
Thanks to @SarahBeley & team for a tour today!

I think we can all agree that we need to start the conversation at a young age. The skilled trades won’t be the right fit for everyone but they need to know that there are some amazing opportunities to consider. #womeninconstruction#endskilledtradesstigma#internationalwomensday
How many women have struggled to get working gear to work on site?
I love the work that @WorkingGear is helping people in the trades, including women 🙌 It's about supporting women.
Here is some advice from Working Gear's Exe. Director, Sarah Beley 💪 #WomenInConstruction

What a difference one show makes. We are thrilled to have received a private donation from the #Krogseth Foundation. After seeing us on the Holmes Family Effect, they wanted to be a part of the amazing work we do in the community. Thank you for believing in us.
One of our biggest supporters, BIG K Clothings, has done it again. #Thankyou for donating hundreds of beautiful rain jackets, vests, coveralls, shirts, boots, and more. Your continuing generosity is helping the #DTES community get back in the workforce 💪
Thank you to our friends at @KEENCANADA for the generous donation of 5000 masks! We can’t wait to give these colourful, washable face coverings to our clients. They’re going to love them ❤️
Alex Hill is one of three resident barbers at Working Gear. A simple hair cut helps clients feel good about themselves during a time in their life where they may not feel self confident.
