Please note that all @WorldGraphite news is now at
@Mastermines_HQ
We will be spending more time in China and need to consolidate our time.
Now one site for all #China mining news
There are a large number of #graphite projects sitting there with DFS in hand waiting for both "real" offtake partners and finance. So much so that graphite has lost credibility with investors. It's staggering.
Almost without exception most ignored China thinking they could handle things through western partners. Now the reality is hitting that graphite is not one market but a whole basket of end uses and each needs to find customers. of which almost all are in China. It's staggering.
So, we have almost all our customers in China, and the Chinese are the best "practical" processors of graphite. What do we do? We test only in the West. Yet we could have tested in China for real information and reports in Chinese that gets good projects well known to end users. It's staggering.
Add to that the fact China is forward thinking and takes risks, the west does not. Years of possible relationship building wasted. The possibility of a JV with the trust of both parties wasted. It's staggering.
My rant for the day.
So, there are a number of prospective #lithium#vanadium#graphite etc resources that are sitting there right now stalled and waiting for finance to the stage where investors believe they are invested in a lifestyle company that never moves. This is the reality of small cap miners and why many are valued so low right now.
The question is, who really wants to create and mine and create it fast and how is that possible in the normal snail's pace that most move?
The reality is that almost all resources need China for either offtake, finance, JV, sale etc.
Most investors and management of small cap resource stocks have no idea of how #China works and why it can be so exciting for investors and management.
The fact is that they can make things happen. but it takes SUBSTANTIAL commitment from management to gain their trust. It also takes a management that is pro-active and actually wants to mine rather than create a personal lifestyle.
I will talk more on the China model in coming months because I see so many stalled resources out there that it's alarming. However, to give you one example. We all know ScopingS , PFS, DFS, BFS and the multitude of studies before most think they can mine. In China you can forget that. Even if you are at scoping study stage, good resources can find a Chinese partner because they don't care for the rest. They want a scoping study and a committed management.
If you would like some insight, you can watch the video below which is a HMS resource that found a Chinese partner. It shows how everything can change. There are other advantages not mentioned but the advantages are many and particularly in Africa which will be the next resource hotspot.

What I do like about $SGA #Sarytogen#graphite is that they are not trying to be a one trick pony for spherical graphite. There are a multitude of markets for graphite and they are finding them. For the volumes...well... that is almost all in #China
We've just released the following announcement: Recarburizer for High-Volume Cast-Iron Market

SG is the now & #graphene is the future. It has a way to go but the amount of investment in #China into graphene is VERY substantial even though unlikely to make the news. ..and China is not alone. The number of patents is huge.

Centre of world #graphite is now entrenched in Hegang #China. Now a super hub for processing and product development.
The giant Yunshun mine is the backbone while research led by Wang Jionghui proving what I have always said that the Chinese are the world's best at processing
News from our old stomping ground in Hegang #China A new method of achieving over 99.999% #graphite purity has emerged.
Unknown in the west it uses an interesting processing combination that does not just rely on heat.
The Chinese are masters of "real" processing technology.
? #Graphene is a good example of why #China will always be the no 1 stop for #graphite related products & why all miners need a China focus.
In Graphene China has lodged 90,000 patents (72% of all) & X 10 more than USA along with 260,000 papers published. Ignore at your peril.
By 2026 U.S electric vehicles will need non #China#Graphite. Watch those Chinese companies in the graphite industry begin developing partnerships with non Chinese mines to circumvent the problem and look for winners.
The Chinese are both masters of processing and of trade.
People also forget that the Chinese may have different reasons for investing in new mines. Such as
- Protecting IP away from China
- Moving funds from China
- Moving family from China
- Establishing manufacturing away from China
- Avoiding China environmental regulations
Small in tonnage(for now) but high value products. Billions are poured into #Graphene each year in China.
Graphite market is as segmented as one industry can get. It's no #Lithium where investors/financing came looking for you when price was good.
#Graphite companies should be spending more time building networks that can help in future financing/offtakes.
What I do agree with. staged dev where stage 1 can prove quality for users... and multiple offtake markets and China has many. That includes #graphite & #graphene which may be small in tonnage but often big $ backing & may be looking for IP protection outside #China.
.#ASX $SGA is delighted to attract this investment from the EBRD following extensive due diligence by the bank. We share an alignment of strategic objectives to power the green economy by developing the Sarytogan #Graphite Project to the highest standard.”
Despite what people say there is still demand for large flake #graphite from #Africa and that includes demand we see from #China
Those that say graphite is in the toilet are wrong, its just complicated to find the right partners, mostly in China.
Evion Group (#ASX: $EVG) Managing Director David Round: “On behalf of our JV partner, we’re very pleased to secure these commercial terms that guarantee us a supply of world-class graphite concentrate.”

Just how many #graphite projects are sitting there treading water and waiting for finance, or soon will be
All the tests all the studies all the reports and all the capital spent Lets not kid ourselves without developing strong partners... aint gonna happen lol
Wasted years
Sensible decision by Triton. As we keep saying #Graphite projects without clear relationships with 🇨🇳 #China risk becoming non events. Gaining mutual trust takes years not months.
> @MineralsTriton $TON Agrees to Divest 70% of Mozambique Graphite Assets for A$17 million cash
In my opinion a number of #graphite projects without a strong #China focus may be left in limbo. Investors can like or hate it but the Chinese currently control the graphite market & have decades of real experience against years of lab tests that are ??? in real word conditions.
> #China natural flake exports up 5.97% YoY in April 2024 to major markets South Korea, Germany and Japan. They look like they are fully recovered just as we guessed they would after the so called export bans.

Big flake in Africa is looking very promising & imo first to move, Most will need China
