Anti-immigrant protesters have been directing abuse at Britain’s leading blindness charity, the RNIB, accusing it of helping small boat migrants. They mixed it up with the RNLI. Reminiscent of the time in 2000 when a mob daubed ‘paedo’ on the office of a paediatrician in Wales.
@PHortonF1 Although not a race winner - or even close to it, Button’s Honda caught fire in the pits in Brazil 2008, while the world watched Hamilton celebrate.
The Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan, selected by @FIFAWorldCup and distinguished by CAF as the best African referee of 2025, was rejected upon arriving in the United States at Miami airport and deported back to Istanbul.
This World Cup is the worst.
By commenting on it they give it credibility; if they say nothing it implies it's correct, even if it's not. The media's job is find stories, validate the info, and report facts, not pedal (or refute) speculation. PlanetF1 is in the paddock; we are held to account. #F1

In the rush to be first, fact checking gets forgotten or ignored, and rumour mistaken for factual reporting. In doing so misinformation spreads wildly, and that creates issues. Now, teams are constantly having to address speculation. That's an issue. #F1

Rumours surrounding Esteban Ocon and Valtteri Bottas highlight the disparity between real journalism and social media reporting. The world has changed in the last decade and there is a growing push to be first to publish on social media, but with that comes danger. #F1

@matcoch It’s been like that for a while. It was especially bad during Michael Schumacher’s accident. So many people wanting to be the fastest with fiction. They would never have said it on TV, radio or in print and yet on here… anything goes.
Don’t give these pricks oxygen. They’re disrespecting the wishes of injured competitors by sharing videos of crashes. Why? Well, because it sounds awfully they’re about to launch some pump and dump crypto bullshit.
Thank you for all the moments we shared, the joyful ones, the difficult ones, and above all for always being willing to lend a helping hand to the team.
Rest in peace, Ricardo Arturo Juncos.
Remembering the late great Graham Hill who tragically passed away 50 years ago today in a light-aircraft accident.
He remains the only driver to have completed the Triple Crown 👑

"Passing the Royal Villa of Monza, no amount of artificial warmth could detract from the biting winds passing from the north. Those who could, went inside and closed their doors for the night; those who couldn’t found doorways or bus shelters."

Ten years ago on the 17th of July 2015, Marussia F1 driver Jules Bianchi passed away, following an accident at the previous year’s Japanese Grand Prix.

The Montreal GP is by far the closest and most affordable f1 race for me. Here’s my honest comparison for the Canadian GO vs Indy 500 as somebody who has attended both (price breakdowns in USD for both)
For no reason, back in the day when Birmingham F3000 Superprix (equivalent F2) raced around the UK’s 2nd city.
The 1988 Birmingham Superprix.
