@OfficialRaynaTM @ord_average_guy It was gatekept by producers who searched for "talent" that already existed, easy to make product. But there have always been "small creators" hoping to be found by a talent scout. Many greats were found, many weren't. But small artists still needed resources to achieve "great".

@OfficialRaynaTM @ord_average_guy But this applies to effectively every single creative field & industry, for decades and decades! Some actors, directors, bands, etc. … just make it. Some don't. One of the main (unseen) contributors is inherited wealth, where at least things like "paying rent" weren't obstacles.
