@morpheas6 Dolphins are a lot more expensive because they are much larger, live longer, reproduce and grow slower, and are probably harder to catch in bulk
Octopodes reproduce and grow much faster, and have a shorter lifespan besides
@AlanSaldanha7@Shower_Logic The photon is its own antiparticle, i.e. anti-light is the same as light. Regardless, antimatter has electric charge, which means it generally interacts with light similarly to matter; Maxwell's equations are agnostic to the sign of the electric charge.
@actime1992 If the pixel encodes photon data (i.e. a record of how much light of which wavelengths hit a specific region on a sensor), then there are in fact a finite number of galaxies no matter how low-resolution the image is, because the observable universe is finite
@tickateej @Shower_Logic The term "racist" has negative implications in general, so understandably people try to avoid the label
Some racists are unapologetically racist and do not mind the label
Others simply don't think they are racist
@OotoriAzu@AtelierFreyna Attempting to lift your feet more than a few cm with this method is inadvisable. If you try to pull up too far and do not extend your legs in time, you may land on your toes, on a hard surface, with knees bent at a sharp angle. This will likely be very painful.
@OotoriAzu@AtelierFreyna In fact, you don't need to squat faster than terminal velocity to lift off—if your legs accelerate faster than the gravitational acceleration on your center of mass, they should lift off the ground a few cm. This is actually quite easy to do if you are reasonably fit. \
@jeanbean186 Humans have not existed for millions of centuries; anatomically modern humans have existed for about 3000 centuries, and behaviorally modern humans have existed for anywhere from 500 to 1500 centuries, depending on the model. Also, "technologically competent" is very ambiguous.
@whitelotus4640 This is also why speakers fluent in a language generally have worse grammar but better comprehension than learners who are not yet fluent: they don't think about the actual words when they speak.
@whitelotus4640 While this may apply in certain cases, it definitely depends on the fine print of the superpower in question. Multilingual people can mix different languages in a single thought without stuttering, as thoughts are often independent of language. \
