To celebrate Adele Nicoll's remarkable achievements of representing GB at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano, and to inspire our current pupils, Welshpool High School has spent this week hosting our very own Winter Olympics celebrations.
During form time classrooms were turned into lively “curling arenas” for a Speed Curling competition. Working in house teams, pupils competed with enthusiasm, teamwork and plenty of good humour, while staff also joined in.
When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever..

The musical centres on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk.
Following this, and with the weather conditions that we are due to be facing, we have taken the decision to close the school tomorrow, Friday, 9th January 2026.
Christmas dinner day information: at lunch there will only be the main meal and on the trolley there will be turkey baguettes with stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. No pizzas will be served at lunch.
