Zia Yusuf just went head-to-head with Fiona Bruce in a heated clash over Question Time audience bias and he refused to back down!

After only 4 hands went up for Reform (rising to just 8 on a recount), Zia said:

“This is interesting given that Reform is averaging 28% in the polls.”

He called it “no way close to representative.”

Fiona pushed back, saying there’s more than that in the audience but they’re just not putting their hands up.

Zia fired straight back: “Ok. We’ll all just have to take the BBC’s word for that.”

Fiona insisted: “We are scrupulous making sure that our audience is politically representative.”

Zia doubled down: “And we all just have to take the BBC’s word for that.”

Fiona, clearly annoyed: “Well I’m certainly not lying about it!”

Zia stood his ground: “Fiona, with respect, where’s the evidence for that? You just made an important claim, you appealed to authority, which is the BBC, so you should believe us, but where’s the evidence for it?”

Fiona replied that everybody is checked, questioned and interviewed before they are picked, but “not everyone wants to put their hand up and show their political allegiance on national television.”

Zia wasn’t convinced: “Ok. Which is why I just said we’ve got to take the BBC’s word for it which you agree with.”

Fiona’s last word: “And I’m happy to do so.”

You may be happy to do so Fiona but Zia and millions more are not. We don’t trust the BBC one bit. I’m glad Zia called this out and refused to back down.

Woke Marxists are all over X tonight, outraged that Palestine Action activists have been sentenced to prison. Even though they broke into a military facility, caused more than £1 million in damage, and fractured the spine of a female police officer after hitting her with a sledgehammer, and doing all of this under the banner of a proscribed terrorist organisation.

These are the same people who not only celebrated Lucy Connolly being imprisoned for 31 months for a spicy tweet that she deleted the same day, but argued that her sentence was too lenient and should've been even longer.

A normal person looks at this and sees an obvious double standard. A woke Marxist looks at it and sees a profound injustice.

I’ve decided to call this mindset an Asymmetric Morality.

An Asymmetric Morality is a belief system in which moral standards are applied tribally rather than universally. It is characterised by the permanent designation of the in-group as victim regardless of conduct (woke activists can smash a police offices spine but they are innocent), and the permanent designation of the out-group as perpetrator regardless of evidence (a conservative can tweet a statement of indifference, delete it, and should face the full force of the law).

Under a symmetrical morality, the principle comes first and the person comes second. If vandalism is wrong, it is wrong whether committed by a conservative or a pro-Palestinian activist. If excessive sentencing is wrong, it is wrong whether the defendant is Lucy Connolly or a Palestine Action campaigner.

But, under an asymmetric morality, which is how the woke Marxists operate, the process works in reverse. The question is never “What happened?” The question is “Who did it?” If the individual is a woke Marxist who belongs to the tribe, their actions are contextualised, excused, rationalised, or celebrated. If the individual is conservative, they are an enemy and condemned as uniquely evil.

The people who suffer under an asymmetric morality are the ones lying in hospital with a smashed spine and the ones sitting in a prison cell because of a tweet wondering what the fuck kind of country they're living in.
