Today was our Computing Hub meeting for Secondary CS teachers and Primary leads part of @Bepschools.
Our year 7s this year have been enthusiastic about CS and it was great to see why, the primary leads are passionate and open to trying new things.
Year 7s have been learning the correct etiquette of writing emails and were practising by emailing teachers.
It has been wonderful to see the impact the teachers have made this first half term.
Favourite email was one sent to @MrTMarston1 saying his jokes are "a little funny"
Year 8s this week are learning about logic gates in their Computer Science lessons.
Great to hear how students were able to link what they have learned to devices and systems they use everyday.
Today we held our first meeting with @Bradgate6th students who will be our Digital Leaders and ESports champions.
On Friday we will send out applications for our first Rocket League tournament to all students at @WreakeValleyCS and @Bradgate6th !
Today marks that day that every class have had their first Computer Science lesson at Wreake Valley Academy. Encouraging to see enthusiastic student.

Had a great conversation with a representative from @British_Esports today, Wreake Valley will be running an eSports competition and will be looking to submit a team into the national tournament.
Next year the Computer Science department will be appointing Digital Leaders from each year group to promote the use of technology in a safe and efficient manner throughout the school.
And they will get a badge too!
