@AuthorGFAllen There’s orcs. And then there’s not. Some people feel bad. Then they don’t. But they kind of know what they are doing, until they don’t. But it’s kind of a good ending, but it’s only half of the book.
@Anthonylance60 I do, but I’m not beholden to it. Sometimes the journey takes you to a different finally and you should be open to that. Just be honest to your characters and fight anything that feels wrong.

1st Edition AD&D is the best form of the game. It's complexity makes it better than any Basic D&D, and it's simplicity makes it better than WotC's versions. AD&D is a game of avatars, and players expressing their smarts is better than a myriad of "feats" and skills. The game is largely humanocentric which is a bonus. 2nd Edition AD&D didn't "clean up and make it easier", it bowdlerized the game to appeal to blue haired church ladies (TSR's 2e standards and practices prove this out).
1e AD&D is the exact sweet spot for D&D.
