I’ve got to appreciate @TheNewANA1 for multiple things, but imma start with thanking you for awarding @neuranki “The Abstract of Distinction” and funding my travel to make this possible!
I have learned so much in the past 3 weeks at @StanfordVasc. My attendings, fellows and residents have allowed me to assist in every surgery. The OR techs are incredible, they have helped me tremendously. Assisted in my first TAMBE!!
🫀Had the incredible opportunity to participate in a sheep heart dissection— such a valuable experience for my understanding of cardiac structures and correlating them with imaging, cath findings, and more! #CardioTwitter#medicaleducation#AGHCVI@CaliRClark
A story of little effort for my home in Pakistan 🇵🇰
"Why girls don't have equal resources and support in our community to excel in education," asked one of the girls when I visited Government Girls High School, Shah Jamal in my town, about a year ago. After coming back to the USA, these words echoed ever since and I started having discussions with my brother Asif Laghari to do something on the line soft skill development as a multiprong approach to poverty eradication and to improve quality of education. This shaped into the idea of building one of the largest IT centers at a government level in South Punjab.
The story of this project is not as easy as it seems in the pictures. It took more than 300 days, 200 plus meetings, 100 plus laborers, and a strong on-site team to effectively plan logistics, short and long-term impacts, and implement the strategy. After the signing of the MOU between ALCOAI and government officials, we started the project in December 2022.
We signed the MOU with the Government school by which we provided the following items at a total cost of 5 million.
✅ Two separate IT halls with a capacity of 40 students in hall one and 25 students in Dr. Reema Hall
✅ Audiovisual system with live sessions from all corners of the world through this Center
✅ Air-conditioned system
✅ Provision of laptop for IT instructor
✅ Hiring of IT instructor on the line of AI and to be paid by us with an annual estimate for maintenance and pay up to half a million.
✅ Development of IT curriculum on the line of practical approach as per class level
✅ Interior and exterior designing of these halls
✅ One Conference Hall with a round table for weekly and monthly meetings for students as well as teacher's training.
✅. 40 Computer system training at one point in time, one of the largest Centers at any Government High school for girl's empowerment across the state.
I also like to mention Dr. Ahmad Saeed Khan whose love for community work always inspired me and upon his persistent stance, our team decided to name this center as “Aamir Laghari Center of Artificial Intelligence” with the idea that one day many of the students will come back to their roots to establish similar stories if they see this today. Initially, I was reluctant to my name but had to give up my stance on this for good long-term intentions. At this point, we have completed 6 major projects in a radius of 30 miles as you can see here Einstein Innovative Learning Center
Special credit to all my colleagues and seniors especially, Dr. Rema Javed Malik , Ahmad Saeed Khan, Dr. Adil, Dr. Karen, Dr. Junaid Mir , Dr. Riaz, and Dr. Hamza for their interest, trust, and collaboration on this initiative for girls. It was this group of eight people who wished to impact in a unique way at the start. A big credit goes to the implementation team who worked days and nights for so many months in harsh weather with so many hurdles @AsifLagharii & Saqib Laghari. Thanks to our IT team for working hard to streamline the curriculum led by Aqsa Maqsood. Thanks to the school administration and Government officials especially CEO Education Tariq Habib sb and the whole district education team for the great support during this project. Thank you, Usman Khan and his team for covering the inauguration event at best.
The whole purpose of this initiative is to change the mindset of curiosity, advance education, digitalize education, and provide an equal and innovative approach for students in a government school in this underdeveloped area especially girls who can’t go for higher studies due to multiple reasons
I was happy and humbled today after seeing the happy faces of the students live from the USA during the inauguration session. I feel the smile of hope on these faces will be a source of contentment someone needs in life to have meaning in life! Alhamdulillah ❤️
My first, first-author publication is finally here!! 😭🫶🏼
I review LOTS of literature to support constructing a theoretical model of autism, stigma/prejudice, camouflaging, mental health, & social identity!
Loved being a part of this special issue! https://t.co/QzgoNK4XhC
