@westyorksnffc@TheSouth_Stand The only thing in common is it's the same piece of metal.
The fourth and fifth best team in England are better than the Champions of all but say five or six other countries in Europe. And the same was true in 1979/1980. It was an inferior competition to what it is today.
EFL statement suggests that clubs have been trialling this, interesting to see where they've ended up.
Issue with parachute payments remains - if there is to be a cap on player related expenditure, why are they now needed? And that's on top of hefty profits on player sales.
I understand why this has come in, but it gives clubs with parachute payments and even bigger advantage, assuming they aren't excluded from revenue.
Many clubs are already way over 100% of SCR. How they will comply by next season is going to be a huge challenge.
"I’m constantly in awe of your loyalty and devotion to this special football club, and you’ve played your part in driving the team forward." 🖤
A message from David Clowes to you ahead of today's game...
It all comes down to today. Whatever happens it's been a hell of a season. Despite never having our best 11 all available at once, to be in with a shout of the play offs on final day is a phenomenal effort. Eustace has done a brilliant job, as have the players.

I am not the most optimistic when it comes to Derby County. But good god we are giving this a hell of a go.
Come on Lampard, do us a favour tomorrow. Once a Ram etc.

@SkyBetChamp Derby got the best run in on paper - both winnable but of course no guarantee.
Hull will not beat Norwich if they turn up like they did v Derby.
Wrexham playing a Cov on the beach and an out of form Boro - hoping for 2 losses but unlikely.
Norwich left it too late.
A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27:
“It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young.
At 26, I thought I had time…
To fall in love.
Start a family.
Grow old.
But cancer doesn’t care about plans.
Now, I understand how fragile life really is. Every single day is a gift, not a guarantee.
I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing to remind you: really live.
Stop stressing over little things. Be kind to your body- move it, nourish it, stop criticizing it. One day you’ll wish you had appreciated it.
Go outside.
Look at the sky.
Feel the sun.
Just be.
Spend less time chasing “stuff” - more time making memories. Don’t skip moments with people you love.
Laugh more.
Write a note.
Tell someone you love them.
Complain less.
Give more.
Helping others brings more joy than anything you can buy.
Be present.
Put your phone down.
Show up - really show up.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect body, or a perfect life.
Just follow what makes your heart light up. Say no to what drains you. Make changes when you need to.
And please - donate blood. I wouldn’t have had that extra year without it. And that year gave me memories I’ll hold close… forever.
Thank you for reading this.
Live your life well.
And maybe… we’ll meet again someday.”

Fortunate to only be one down. Need a serious overhaul fast to get anything out of this. Midfield been non existent, far too easy to stifle us going forward.
Would probably get Fraulo on HT, Travis not been great.n

Today is a tough one with Oxford desperate for points. Great to see JWZ back. Next two are toughest on paper for me, we need to win both to stay in the play off hunt, easier said that done. But let's see eh?
