That mandate was not abstract. It came from the 2024 Labour manifesto.
So judge it against that.
Delivered or started:
GB Energy legislated.
Rail public ownership legislated.
Private school VAT imposed.
Non-dom status abolished.
Water company special measures passed.
Employment rights legislation passed, though not in full original form.
Watered down or retreated from:
Day-one unfair dismissal protection became six months.
Winter fuel payments were cut, despite no manifesto mandate for that.
Welfare/PIP reform has moved in a direction not honestly put to voters.
The two-child cap was left in place.
Still largely unproven:
40,000 extra NHS appointments a week.
1.5 million homes.
Clean power by 2030.
Lower bills.
Reduced waiting lists.
Controlled immigration.
Serious constitutional reform.
So yes, Labour won a mandate. But that mandate was for the manifesto, not for whatever programme the leadership later chose to substitute for it.
@Keir_Starmer I loved your last paragraph by the way, Iโm just wondering how that ship sailing through the English Channel made us less safe, today, tomorrow or for the rest of the year
A Sudanese national who was reported to be moving in with another man from Sudan was being helped by a disabled person (the victim). That good samaritan act somehow morphed into this horrific attack.
We are beyond words now past your usual thoughts and prayers posturing.
While i appreciate you are Inaction man you need to do something or step aside for someone who will.
@JChimirie66677@Keir_Starmer Was he not a Sudanese national, and did he not have friend.
There are reports that a disabled person (the victim) was helping 2 Sudanese nationals move in when he was atacked.
@CNNallstar@tag4UK@PolitlcsUK Its not โhisโ actions you first responded to its that of his wider family.
The brother called the police and lied, the mum hid the knife after the stabbing.
The legal position is far from incoherant claiming it is is just virtue signalling at its best.
I have nothing against trans people living their lives but not at the expense of others. You cannot promote the rights of one group over another and try and claim some moral high ground.
