hard to believe but there are people in this world who leave me feeling nothing but contempt for words and language. My everlasting thanks to foofaraw press for publishing my story about them! (and to @tonytranrpg for the nifty art that came with it) https://t.co/AsBmHPzOev
My thanks to @librelitmag for sharing this take on the places we end up feeling lost in, and the routes we discover to lead us out of there. travel safe!
April 2025 passed with my thanks to Gilbert and Hall press for including my (oddly for me) optimistic tale in the climate fiction anthology Green Magic, a story about species, ecosystem and planet recovery, and sadly, lots of dead toads.
In February of this year Graveworm Press distributed 200 of these beauties in Cleveland. It still gives me smiles knowing a noir story of mine is floating off the lake in Ohio (and at https://t.co/qKa0d6choi )
I don't think of myself as a nomad, not any more than I think of them as my family, or that house or dot on the map my #home. I don't wish them ill or have anything to avenge, it's just ever since that night I left, I've always looked forward to the next place I go #vss365
“I only tell people what I know,” the aged and smiling hermit told me from the summit I’d climbed to hear his advice. “All my #complaints live in the past. Sometimes running away can solve all your problems.” #vss365
He’s still talking! Bitcoin this. Stock that. 17 years of ignoring each other. Next table's ready to #hop to the mall but in deep debate about which phone to buy. The perils of eavesdropping. Finding a conversation duller than his. No wonder I love the voices in my head. #VSS365
An ice cube floating in a pitcher of water. The shirt pattern across from me. Halos in the reflection of the lights off the boardroom table. Assorted crumbs and sprinkles in the bottom of the donut box. #Sightseeing in an meeting, exploring the beauty found in boredom. #vss365
I kept it, you know? It's In a box in my basement. That unsent #postcard begging you to join me. The one I wrote to your parents and fiancé as much I did you. The postcard that was a final act of a love doomed. That love. It’s in a box in my basement. I kept it, you know? #vss365
She finally accepted her aging doubts after he turned off the tv and went to bed. She'd tried to fake the day with laughter, stories, a gift and #lobster dinner, but she knew, as she clicked the TV back on, she had celebrated their anniversary alone, for the last time. #vss365
We all diverted our eyes from the screaming, disheveled guy, dancing with ghosts on the sidewalk. Strung out? Health trouble? Prophet? I almost made it by him, but in the end had to #peek. I needed to know what the sign he was holding said, if only so his voice was heard. #vss365
I froze, lovestruck by the breaking of the stillness, as a pair of wings floated to the sky. I was about to mention the grace of an egret in a #swamp, but Mickey reminded me I was at work. “The boss said dump the body up ahead. The gators will take care of it from there.” #vss365
I had done my part, and the blue sky was on to theirs, letting the sun shine brightly, through the half-naked branches, and down on to the piles of raked autumn leaves, that glowed, like a #puzzle of golden rainbows, put together perfectly at my feet #vss365
See the glow of my homemade halo and the shine of the plastic #altrusim (and genuine hypocrisy) that enriches me, and open your heart to my slander and lies. Now, get ready to point your finger at the enemy, but just be sure you've clicked on the donate link first #vss365
Whether he was a saviour, predator, clairvoyant, or as his profile said, a talent agent, mattered not. He was famous, and per usual, surrounded by keepers of dreams, each willing to offer anything to see their own name #ablaze, and shining in his eyes #vss365
It was over the fresh oysters he decided to check his messages, and while the main course, dessert and coffee still followed, all the attraction, #avidity and anticipation she had felt for their first date forever sunk, like a pearl lost to the bottom of the sea. #vss365
An unexpected joy of writing: The delightfully peculiar experience of hearing my words read by another. Much love to The First Line for adding "The Curator" to their TFL on Tape library - Episode 61 @ https://t.co/J5Uak9UU6B

Childhood lessons my mouth and mind still remember: apple cores are always closer than they appear; some grapes have seeds (they’re bitter!); and the border between sweet joy and emptiness is just past where the red meets white on a slice of #melon#vss365
