Catherine Halliday

I am a writer based in Moray in the north of Scotland. I love writing, reading and drinking wine with good friends. Not necessarily in that order!

[Catherine Halliday @WriterCHalliday]

Oh this is great. I’ve learned lots about Vikings in Scotland whilst grandson been reading it!

@SAC_Reads @KidlitScotland Oh such a pity I’m just a little too old for this! lol!

Writing and Art competition ✍️🎨

See post for details @KidlitScotland

[Catherine Halliday @WriterCHalliday]

@RyanTheSoapking @bbcstrictly Totally agree. They should have all those who went out in the first week compete against each other. We didn’t get much of a chance to see them. @bbcstrictly

[Catherine Halliday @WriterCHalliday]

@mpmcrobbie @scattyscribbler That sounds fun! Not sure I will be but let me know when you are around and I can come through to Inverness if you’ve time!

[Jennifer Morag Henderson @jennifer_morag]

I'm doing a talk for @HighlandLIT about Josephine Tey on May 21st at 7pm at the Beaufort in Inverness - it's free and all are welcome! @sandstonepress

My first new full short film in 11 years *should* drop later this year, but I would be really grateful if you could all watch this one & share it far and wide. It’s really personal to me:

This film is going to be very magical indeed ❤️

[Catherine Halliday @WriterCHalliday]

@ecossefilmmaker Looks great!!

New summer reading room! Currently reading (and enjoying) The Last Witch of Scotland by Philip Paris. #Scotland #fiction #societyofauthors

[Catherine Halliday @WriterCHalliday]

@scattyscribbler What’s so surprising (or maybe not given the time and the fighting for power) that so few attempts were made to spring her!

[Fraser @ecossefilmmaker]

Getting a little bit panicky now. If we don’t reach our goal, we can’t complete the post production on our short film. Can you help us with a share or and pledge? Lots of perks available in return for your support!

[Catherine Halliday @WriterCHalliday]

What fun! @cbcreative

I loved @Jennifer_moray book Josephine Tey: A Life. What an interesting character she was. It inspired me to read A Daughter of Time - a great crime story!

[Jennifer Morag Henderson @jennifer_morag]

@blueplaquepod @valmcdermid This blogpost gives some of the story of how I successfully campaigned for Tey's blue plaque:https://t.co/LWcMRrUBJW

@AllyZetterberg He gets off!

'Get on the bus at Hope St. I'm on it'. She texted her new boyfriend. But forgot to mention that she was with her sister who would be alighting there. Her identical twin sister. #WriteCBC @AllyZetterberg @CBCCreative

Why oh why does the #NewYorkTimes spelling bee not recognise laldy as a word? As in ‘gie it laldy’ 😝#Scotland
