planted the front garden for mother's day and the big kid got to pick out a plant. she chose two very bedraggled begonias. she says their names are betty and bob and they've been married for 50 years.

solar storm? electromagnetic field? no you fools, the sun is angry with us. we must return to the traditions of old and appease it by erecting two large rectangular rocks side by side and then balancing a third large rectangular rock on top of them

@potenspuella Insurance didn't have many suggestions, but my parents have used this roofer and liked them.

roofer is FINALLY coming to give us an estimate today

@potenspuella I will admit I'm very nervous that the roof will cost more than insurance is willing to pay and we'll have to somehow conjure the rest.

@potenspuella Once we get the roofer's estimate, we'll have to compare it to insurance and then maybe go back and forth about how much insurance is willing to cover. And THEN we'll have to get the check taken care of. And THEN, finally, we'll have someone fixing the roof.

@jump_this_ship I worry about this ALL THE TIME. My best luck was when I wore my "what's more punk than the public library" tee under a flannel and one of the kids thought that was cool enough to be worth sketching!!
