EPISODE THIRTEEN X INCIDENTS AROUND THE HOUSE
Theo Selwyn has been deemed worthy, though he wishes he was anything but. Led to cold case files and the monster that killed them, the creature is determined to put Theo to the test by any means necessary.

@MissPookems Parasite Eve. First game was only released in Japan, third game was on the PSP many years ago. Would love to see a remake and released in Europe/UK.
Started work on the 3rd draft of my book. Except now there's a short story idea pushing its way forward.
This seems to happen all the time. I make a plan to work on my book, then I procrastinate with short stories :/
Anyone else have this problem?
Got an idea for a story for a competition as one of the things is ghosts. Found my ghost/demon from Scottish folklore, setting being an oil rig in the north sea near Orkney.
Trying to decide on POV and my mind is between 2nd person or an epistolary. Suggestions welcome :)

@Danielwoodrell1 Partially trimming. As I was writing, I noticed my MC doing a lot of grabbing in terms of objects. So while the 1st draft is fine because it's there, there's repetition of character names, repeatedly doing things (with similar wording) that needs trimmed for sentence structure.
I finally finished the demon/djinn under the bedsheet story π
Only took me several weeks and 41 pages in an A4 notebook.
Now to type it up, editing as I go then get feedback on any issues or bits to fix.
@Danielwoodrell1 It's likely shaping what's there. In its current draft, I've noticed A LOT of repetition with words a d since it's 1st person, a lot "I did this," "I did that," so it's trying to figure out the best way to reword without falling into those traps π
@A_Novel_Concept Yes, I write all of my 1st drafts by hand including one novel, several short stories and a third of the way through a second book π I've found that it let's me get all the roughness and word vomit out before I type it up, edit it and get feedback π
@HLDocherty Nota bot, horror writer here π Working on short stories for competitions and working on a second book, a vampire novel. Onto my third draft of my first book, which is the moodboard below π
Been writing a story involving a demonic being hiding under a bedsheet as it terrorises two characters. Now trying to decide whether to kill one off and further traumatise my poor FMC π
@MCTaylor_author My end goal. I got stuck on a bit in my first book and good lord was it like wading through mud. I kept my overall goal in mind, got through it and treated myself after. Maybe treat yourself to nice chocolate or a notebook when finished hard bits?
Writing a short story for a competition and the MC is the daughter of another I regularly write for. There's been several times I've stopped, looked at it and went, "yep that's [character]."
Which I'd guess is a good thing. MC is her own character but still shows family traits.
