$42 billion for a battery, but nuclear energy is soooooo expensive it should stay illegal?
You could build around 4 large reactors or 8 small modular reactors from the money spent on Snowy Hydro (based on even the CSIRO's numbers).
One's legal, the other isn't.
As Australia moves toward a majority solar & wind grid, which area concerns you the most?
We talk a lot about the 'what' of the energy transition, but not enough about the 'how'.
Moving to a weather-dependent grid is a massive engineering shift

People worry that a universal basic income would make other people (not them) lazy. Data from programs around the world shows the opposite is true, as explained here by Nobel Prize-winning economists Abhijit V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo for the WSJ.

It's very intriguing. I wonder what would happen if humans get 7 senses and what the other 2 senses would be. Your thoughts? @josiezayner https://t.co/AfRjUSCdym

Canada's nuclear regulator has approved the construction of the country's first small modular reactor (SMR) at the existing Darlington Nuclear Power Station site which is just 58km from the Toronto CBD.
"The Darlington SMR will be the first in the G7, powering our province with clean, reliable, and affordable energy." - Hon. Stephen Lecce Ontario Minister of Energy and Mines.
Canada is just one potential partner country Australia could work with to develop our own nuclear industry to work alongside renewables to deliver net-zero by 2050.
In Australia, political candidates and parties don’t have to tell the truth in political ads. It’s actually legal to lie in a political ad!?
It is unacceptable

We're calling on government's across Australia to lift outdated bans on uranium mining to improve global energy security and help power the global clean energy transition.
Last week we launched our campaign with a call for @RogerCookMLA to overturn the moratorium on uranium mining in WA.
Our survey confirms: vape flavours are essential for quitting smoking! ❌🚬
📊 87% of vapers in Spain say flavors help them stay away from cigarettes. Banning them would jeopardize harm reduction efforts.

"It’s the eye-watering difficulty of the last 20% of decarbonisation that justifies AEMO’s call for new gas as insurance against wind and solar droughts. However, it’s hard to imagine this vast gas capacity sitting idle. If renewables integration proves unexpectedly challenging, the grid will rely on more fossil fuels for longer. That’s what’s now happening with Germany’s struggling transition (the ‘energiewende’)."
Dr Jonathan Symons explores the politics of nuclear energy ahead of the upcoming federal election.
The UK Labour government are going all on on new nuclear to meet energy security and climate goals.
It's time for Australia to lift the ban on nuclear energy.

We've been vocal about the damage caused by wind projects in ecologically sensitive remnant forests. We continue to call on political leaders to ensure such projects don't go ahead.
Equally, we want to shout out projects which demonstrate responsible planning and land use.
The proposed Sunny corner wind farm would exist within plantation forestry which is already a land use for resource extraction and has low biodiversity, cultural and community value.
The co-location of extractive industries like this makes sense and avoids the damage being done to our remnant forests.
Nuclear energy is the most dangerous form of energy ever invented - right?
What if everything you thought you knew about nuclear energy was wrong and fixing the climate crisis required you to rethink what you thought you knew?
Former Extinction Rebellion organiser Joel Scott-Halkes explains.
