"It rarely takes more than a page to recognize that you're in the presence of someone who can write, but it only takes a sentence to know you're dealing with someone who can't." J Olson

Extremely rough sketch of the map for a very high fantasy setting I'm actively developing (which has appeared in Shadows & Sorcery several times), including a basic idea of the planet shape that kicked it off

Looking for a good task manager sort of app. Something besides a regular calendar, nor something for bosses to keep tabs on their remote workers. I want to organize my #writing tasks on a week by week schedule. #WritingCommunity#Calendar
no cause how do you know the book you want to write is the book you want to write?? like I get idea but the more I think on them, the more unsure I get and put a pin in it for later cause they start feeling less like "the one" #WritingCommunity
In editing my new WIP, I realize I'd forgotten a good amount of the early chapters. Some of what I've put into this story surprises me, and that's a good thing. #amwriting#amwritingfiction#WritingCommunity
#WritingCommunity I like you. You're easy to read. Your honesty is a breath of fresh air. What you see is what you get with you. I like and admire your gentleness and kindness to me. Do you mind if I can share in your peace, I need rest.
That feel when you don't want to go to sleep (4:35am) because you're 21 pages into developing an idea and its gotten to that good stage where all the ideas are coming and its going really well. Can't stop the flow, right?

First TikTok! 🎉 Who knows if this will be a one-off venture, but I had fun creating this monstrosity. I know this isn’t a current TT trend… don’t @ me

I didn’t think Twitter would die. Nope. No way. Not in a weekend.
But what I do find worryingly interesting is #writingcommunity tags making the top trends consistently. #Kindle? #BookTwitter?
Is there really that many of us?
Or… is there really that much less going on here?
What do you think about chapters that go back&forth btwn 2 centuries... different characters...but to understand the present, the reader needs the story of the past? A hyper-flashback of sorts. Think it throws or confuses the reader?
