Tropical weather for next week. With a ridge over the eastern U.S. and a body of high pressure over the Ohio River Valley, it's going to get hot and muggy. We'll have temperatures in the low 90s and dew point temperatures near 70. Heat indices will be 90s, to near 100 degrees.

Two strong earthquakes have struck northwest Venezuela this evening. Heavy damage has been reported in the capital Caracas. A 7.2 earthquake hit at 6:04 PM EDT, followed by a stronger 7.5 magnitude quake at 6:05 PM EDT. https://t.co/cv84LsaVP2

It's turned into a seismically busy evening. A powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit off of Japan's northern coast a few hours ago. The quake occurred during morning rush hour and there was some shaking felt in Tokyo. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
