I went back to visit my former school this morning.
It was rainy and traffic was terrible. Teachers were late. Teachers had to cover. Admin was scrambling.
I was reminded of the many stresses that educators in a school have to deal with.
Much respect for those doing the work.
ALL behaviours are communication. This is still an area I see massively misunderstood in far too many schools😞sanctioning a child for unmet needs is never OK. It’s discriminatory at worst and cruel at best - not a good look. I also question how it fits with Teaching Standards🫤
Such a powerful quote here. The reality is people won’t find fault in those who rest in the land of mediocrity. The people who endure the most criticism are highly motivated. As long as you are standing still, no one will complain.
Whether you are a teacher or in an administrative role…
🔹Don’t stand still.
🔺Take the leap.
🔹Try new things.
🔺And always do what’s best for kids, even when it’s hard.
Will you be criticized by some? Yes.
But is this leadership? Absolutely yes.
Remember…
Dogs don’t bark at parked cars…
…They bark at the cars who are moving.
Keep moving forward and keep doing what’s best for kids.
This is leadership.
Happy National Principal’s Month to all the amazing school leaders of this state! Thanks to Governor Gordon for his recognition of our efforts and the official proclamation!
This was the end of our staff meeting today. I stole the idea of sharing inspiring quotes with seven of your peer teachers from a @WyASSP Wyo principal who did it with a team of admin at a recent Principal Leadership Academy. Super positive! #FaceTheChallenge#MVHSBuffs
Wyoming principals collaborating after a great day of learning at the United Principal Conference in Nashville! Thanks to two members who led and represented the great state of Wyoming with sold out sessions to the great work in their own schools/district! #united2024
Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible teachers and leaders who also have their very own students! You support so many kids and you are all greatly appreciated! Have a great Day!
This! If you are a building leader and haven’t joined your professional organization that’s ready to support you and sustain you, join today. Our work is too hard to do it alone, and it’s doubtful that most districts have the time, money, resources to support building level leaders.

BTW: @unfoldthesoul When are you coming to Virginia? We’d love to show you around our little school!
