PopSockets’ previous packaging for their PopGrips with Swappable Tops used a thermoformed plastic insert inside a folding carton. While this allowed customers to interact with the product at retail, it also made the product too easy to remove, leading to theft and product loss.
The project also included:
• Seven custom spot colors, including five fluorescent inks
• Color consistency across licensed and co-branded product lines
• Cold foil, embossing, reticulating coating, and spot gloss UV
• Specialized converting and assembly processes
1. A UV-curable adhesive is printed only where the foil is needed.
2. A roll of foil is pressed against the sheet and the foil adheres to the adhesive.
3. The carrier film is removed, leaving behind the foil.
4. Inks can be printed over the foil to create custom colors & designs.

Dr. Squatch needed premium packaging for their Cologne Discovery Pack that aligned with their rugged brand aesthetic, supported sustainability goals, and could be produced domestically in time for a holiday launch.
Wynalda Packaging developed a two-piece telescoping rigid box with a molded pulp insert, featuring full-sheet embossing, hot foil stamping, and a universal molded pulp tray design that works for both 3-bottle and 5-bottle discovery packs using interchangeable SBS masks.
Wynalda Packaging will be exhibiting at the #CraftBrewersConference & #BrewExpoAmerica next week in Philadelphia, and we’d love to connect! 🍻

#Packaging#EPR
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is quickly becoming one of the most important regulatory shifts impacting packaging.
Across the US, new EPR laws are already being implemented in states like CA, CO, OR, and ME, and more states are actively considering similar legislation.
In simple terms: brands will soon pay fees based on the packaging they put into the market.
Companies that start preparing now will be better positioned as these programs expand.
