What happens when a state issues its own stabletoken? 🏔️

In the latest episode of Crypto, Explained, @OnChainAli sits down with @heystephchan from the @WyoStable Commission to talk about FRNT, the first stabletoken issued by a U.S. state.

We cover how it’s backed, how the public can check its reserves every day, and how the interest earned helps fund Wyoming’s public schools.

What if a digital dollar could help fund public schools? In Wyoming, it already does. 🏫

The interest earned on reserves backing Wyoming’s FRNT stabletoken helps fund the state’s public schools. Every token is backed by U.S. dollars and short-term U.S. Treasuries, kept in a separate account set aside just for that purpose, and every day, the public can see a report confirming those reserves are there.

@heystephchan, Enterprise Project Manager and Deputy Director at the @WyoStable Commission, explains how it works.

[Wyoming Stable Token Commission @wyostable]

We’re deepening our adoption of @chainlink by leveraging Proof of Reserve to set a new U.S. standard for digital asset transparency.
With this integration, the Frontier Stable Token is now the first stable token issued by a public entity to publish verified reserve data onchain.

[Wyoming Stable Token Commission @wyostable]

Independent examination continues under AICPA standards through The Network Firm. Proof of Reserve brings that verification onchain, removing the blind spot between reporting periods.
Chainlink Proof of Reserve is now the exclusive onchain asset verification infra for FRNT.

Hear from Director @wyoapollo about how the Wyoming Stable Token initiative can scale the stablecoin market supply by partnering with other states and agencies, rather than going head-to-head with incumbents.
