Dear Parents and Carers,
This message is to confirm that WCCS will definitely be open tomorrow.
The ovals will be closed but the water has subsided to the point that our council approved flood policy will allow us to have students onsite.
Darren Milligan | Principal
2/2 Having said that, it is forecast for 30 - 50mm for Wyong tomorrow with a 100% chance of rain.
We will keep you updated as to what the water levels are doing by lunchtime tomorrow.Darren Milligan | Principal
1/3 Dear Parents and Carers,
We have just checked the water levels at school. As it stands we would be reasonably optimistic that at the current rate of subsidence we will be open by Monday.
We appreciate that this decision will place a burden on some families who will need to make alternate arrangements for childcare. Thank you again for partnering with us as we all manage these challenging times. The next update on when the school will reopen will be made 6/3/22
1/4 Dear Parents and Carers,
In considering the safety of our community we have made the decision to close the school on Friday 4th March. The water levels at school have slowly increased throughout the day and the forecast is for more rain today and tomorrow.
3/4 Announcements will be sent to students via Canvas at the start of the day with information on the work to be completed.
Junior School will continue with the same plan as today and will move to remote learning on Monday should the school closure continue.
2/4 Whilst it is not heavy rain, we expect the water levels to continue to increase and to stay above the safe levels required for the school to operate.
Secondary School students can expect to have remote learning lessons delivered via Canvas for normal timetabled lessons.
1/3 Please be advised that waters levels have increased around the school and at the school overnight. The forecast is for heavy rain today. Whilst the school site is not in any immediate danger, we are concerned that the roads to and from the school may close today.
2/3 Therefore we have enacted our Food Evacuation Policy and made the decision to close the school today.
There will be staff onsite should your child already be on their way to school.
We will provide further updates today.
Please be advised that an email has been sent to you regarding Covid19 protocols in schools changing from Monday 28th February.
Should you have any further questions please contact the school office.
