@TidyWire Hi, most likely the guy has high quality models so he’s decimating everything in order to reduce vertices and keep the scene running smoothly. As a long time blender user none of you know what you’re talking about. Only a human could make topology look that bad.
@pluwl@AltraNade I get your point, I’m sure ai is all over the industry and it sucks, I don’t know this guy and I think his ai use is unnecessary, but I can tell that he put time into these compositions and contributed his own artistic vision to a scene I like, that’s all
@pluwl@AltraNade It’s possible they’re different character models but I don’t think so, and the building was switched out for the above shot. I can confidently say only a human can make topology look this bad, ai would’ve tried to make it look neat. look at mjs hair. ai would never.
@serpentOracle@pluwl@AltraNade I’m sorry but I’ve used blender for about 7 years and believe me there’s plenty of fucked looking topology if you were to see my wireframes, this is so obviously real to me. I still think the guy used ai to be clear, just as texturing pass over his finished render.
@pluwl@AltraNade If you have blender experience none of this is hard. If he did use ai, and I think that he did, it was after he rendered the scenes but before his final painting pass, so that he had more detail. Modeling this just makes sense because you need control to get a good composition.
@pluwl@AltraNade Humans are probably rigged, and everything is decimated. But what’s the point of ai generating these models? I have many buildings, people, and several Spider-Man models on my computer right now, there are so many free models out there, it would be far more work to generate them.
@serpentOracle@pluwl@AltraNade It’s an n gon, it has curved edges made of many vertices, but only one face, hence no lines. If you were to look at the face from the side it would look like a line. It’s flat.
@serpentOracle@pluwl@AltraNade Yeah the background has a lot of intersecting polys, either from decimating or because at a distance blender has a harder time figuring out which plane should be on top, and the side of what he’s sitting on is a flat surface, all you need is a single quad
@Yt1Sanimate@reza825_ I feel like people think he just opened a llm and received a finished piece of work, he’s clearly a talented artist with a lot of experience. I’d be bothered too if I thought an ai was making the creative decisions but I just don’t think that’s the case here.
@_CallMeDante That’s a decimate modifier, it reduces the number of vertices but in a random way. If you asked ai to generate a wireframe, it would give you neat quads. The messiness more than anything tells me this is very much human work.
@_CallMeDante The artist clearly put thought into the scene, built it in blender and likely used ai for a texturing pass, and the final scene in the movie looked great. I get it if u think any ai usage is wrong but if the concern is there was no artistry here that’s not the case
@ajosfritos98@CyclpsWsRght That’s what it looks like when you decimate a model, it reduces the number of verts but not in orderly way. If you tried to ai a picture of the geometry, it would try to make it look like nice quads. The messiness more than anything is the biggest indicator this is real.
@baldmilesteller Yes this is a real screenshot from blender, not saying ai wasn’t used in the final image but it wasn’t generated from scratch, someone put thought into this composition
@hctrlopez_n@_TheSmartAlec1 He has a library of 3d models, he dropped in the buildings and both people, applied a decimate modifier to everything to make the scene faster, and probably used AI for a texturing pass. Scene needs to be 3d to get multiple angles
