Abrogation, called naskh in Arabic, is the Islamic doctrine that later Quranic verses cancel and replace earlier ones. The Quran itself states this in Surah 2:106: “We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth one better than it or similar to it.”

When Muhammad was weak in Mecca, the early verses preached restraint. Surah 2:256 says, “There is no compulsion in religion.” Those words are still quoted today to Western audiences as proof that Islam is peaceful.

Once Muhammad gained military and political power in Medina, later verses reversed the earlier stance.

Surah 9:5 commands, “Kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush.”

Surah 9:29 orders fighting the People of the Book “until they give the jizyah (the subjugation tax) willingly while they are humbled.”

Classical Muslim scholars treated these Medinan fighting commands as abrogating the earlier tolerance verses. The chronological order is not accidental. Tolerance applied when Muslims were weak. Domination applied when they became strong.

Taqiyya works hand in hand with this system. It is the doctrine of precautionary concealment and deception toward non-Muslims when openness would hinder the advance of Islam.

Surah 3:28 allows believers to show outward friendliness to disbelievers “except when taking precaution against them.” Surah 16:106 permits verbal denial of the faith under pressure while the heart remains firm.

Devout Muslims who follow the original intent understand the distinction. Early peaceful verses are useful for public presentation in the West. The later verses of jihad and subjugation remain the operative commands once power is secured. Quoting only the abrogated verses while knowing the later ones control is not ignorance. It is strategic deception authorized by the doctrine itself.

Biblical revelation contains no parallel system. Jesus and the apostles never authorized canceling prior moral commands or systematically concealing the faith’s true claims in order to gain advantage over outsiders. Christian confession under pressure has historically chosen open testimony, even at the cost of life.

The combination of naskh and taqiyya produces a permanent asymmetry. Non-Muslims are presented with a carefully selected public face of restraint. The internal tradition knows the later commands of fighting and domination take priority. That is not a modern invention. It has operated from the beginning of the faith.

The man who later ordered mass beheadings, took war captives as concubines, and consummated a “marriage” with a nine-year-old did not begin life under any divine spotlight.

He began as a fatherless orphan in a pagan culture that valued tribal strength above everything else. Later Muslim writers invented glowing childhood legends precisely because the adult record is so stained with blood and coercion.

Islamic tradition surrounds his conception with tales of a mysterious “light” on his father’s forehead that passed into his mother. These stories appear generations later from men desperate to make an ordinary, contested birth look sacred.

There is no independent confirmation. The same sources later admit uncertainty over whether his father Abdullah even lived to see the child born.

As an infant he was sent to a Bedouin wet nurse among tribes for whom raiding (ghazu) was normal and celebrated. Children heard campfire stories of ambushes, stolen camels, and captured women.

That early training in plunder as honorable work never left him. As an adult he simply redirected the same raids under new religious slogans.

His mother Aminah died on a return journey from Yathrib, leaving the boy fully orphaned. There were no Psalms of Jehovah as Father to the fatherless read over him.

He was taken in by his grandfather Abd al-Muttalib, a leading pagan guardian of the idol-filled Kaaba who practiced divination with sacred arrows and oversaw sacrifices to false gods.

One of the most repeated legends claims angels cut open the boy’s chest, removed a black clot called “the portion of Satan,” washed his heart in snow, and sealed him shut. The other children who witnessed it fled in terror.

Scripture never treats sin as a detachable lump that angels surgically extract. Sin is a condition of the heart inherited from Adam that requires repentance and a new heart from Jehovah, not a gruesome operation on a traumatized child.

The Bible shows no such procedure on the sinless Son of God. Holy angels announce truth and call people to the already revealed Word.

They do not leave a child pale and shaken with no gospel message. The episode fits pagan fear of jinn far better than any genuine heavenly purification.

These childhood myths exist for one reason. They attempt to pre-sanctify a man whose adult actions include authorizing the execution of hundreds of surrendered Banu Qurayza men, taking multiple wives and concubines beyond the limits he set for others, and building political power through the same raiding culture he absorbed as a boy. A surgically cleansed heart should not produce that record.

The real childhood was one of loss, pagan ritual, and early exposure to violence as virtue. The legends were written later to paper over the contradiction.

Jehovah’s standards of justice and purity stand in permanent judgment against both the darkness of that culture and the adult career that grew out of it.

The Banu Qurayza Executions: Trenches, Beheadings, and Muhammad’s Approval of Collective Slaughter in 627 C.E.

The Banu Qurayza incident of 627 C.E. stands as one of the clearest recorded examples of collective execution under Muhammad’s direct authority.

After the Battle of the Trench, the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza was accused of negotiating with the confederate forces that had besieged Medina.

Whether the contacts amounted to active military treason or merely exploratory talks remains debated even among Islamic sources, but the outcome did not.

Muslim forces under Muhammad’s command laid siege to the Qurayza fortresses for roughly twenty-five days. The tribe surrendered.

Hadith reports confirm that males who had begun to grow pubic hair were killed; those who had not were spared and classed with the women and children. One woman was also executed for having killed a Muslim during the fighting. The surviving women and children were enslaved and distributed. Muhammad himself received at least one of the women, Rayhana, as a concubine.

Quran 33:26–27 alludes to the event without numbers: Allah “brought down those of the People of the Book who supported them from their fortresses and cast terror into their hearts. A party you killed, and a party you took captive. And He caused you to inherit their land and their homes and their properties.” The text presents the outcome as divine favor.

Biblical standards of justice stand in sharp contrast. Jehovah’s law required individual guilt established by witnesses (Deuteronomy 17:6; 19:15). Collective slaughter of an entire adult male population that had surrendered was never commanded.

That record remains the primary source material.

Once those communities reach critical mass, they begin accumulating political power. They run for local offices, school boards, city councils, then state positions, and eventually Congress and Senate seats. Every step increases their ability to reshape policy in their favor.

They start with small Sharia accommodations — foot-washing stations, prayer rooms in schools and government buildings, special holidays. Each demand seems minor. Each one granted weakens the host culture further. This is the boiling-the-frog strategy.

They pour resources into education systems to indoctrinate young people that America and Israel are the villains while Islam plays the victim. All of it advances the same ancient goal: the gradual replacement of Western Christian civilization with Islamic dominance.

Blood money (diya) existed as a weaker alternative. A fixed payment, commonly one hundred camels, could sometimes halt the feud if both sides accepted it. Acceptance was often viewed as less honorable than taking a life.

The decision rested with tribal elders or assemblies, not an independent court. There was no neutral state power to enforce a verdict. Strength decided outcomes. The weak simply suffered.

Women and children held no independent legal standing. A girl child could be buried alive if her birth brought perceived shame or economic burden. Marriage was a transaction between male guardians.

A husband could discard a wife with little formality. Slave-girls and captives taken in raids were property for labor or sexual use. Hospitality to guests was praised, yet that same culture treated outsiders as fair game for plunder once the sacred months ended.

Sacred months and certain shrine areas imposed temporary truces, mainly to protect pilgrimage trade around places like the idol-filled Kaaba. Outside those limits, the desert operated by the rule that the strong take what they can and the weak endure.

Loyalty to the tribe (asabiyyah) outweighed any broader moral claim. A man who protected his own kin against outsiders was righteous in their eyes, even if the method was ambush and slaughter.

This system stood in direct opposition to the standards Jehovah had already revealed. Scripture declares every human bears the image of God and that innocent blood defiles the land.

The Mosaic Law limited retaliation to measured justice under public authority and protected the vulnerable.
