Moderna and Merck say their personalized mRNA cancer vaccine succeeded in its first late-stage trial, sending Moderna up around 100% pre-market and Merck more than 8%.

Combined with Keytruda, the vaccine significantly extended how long high-risk melanoma patients went without their cancer returning in a trial of more than 1,100 people.
