Crews have been participating in some PR events this week. Tuesday, crews from B Shift attended the Neighborhood Night Out event at the Bike Hub. Yesterday, crews from C Shift Co 32 attended an event at the Xenia Community Center & helped soak down the kiddie pool kickball setup.

Today is the final day of Chief Riggsby's career with the Xenia Fire & EMS Division after 42 years of service. We thank you Chief for your dedication to the job, service to the community, and leadership. We hope you enjoy your well deserved retirement!
With the retirement of Chief Riggsby, the City Manager has announced the appointment of Mike Bogan to be the next Fire Chief for the Xenia Fire & EMS Division.
Chief Bogan is a 25 year veteran with the XFD previously serving as a FF/Medic, Lt, Capt, & Deputy Chief
Chief Ken Riggsby is RETIRING! After 42 years of service to the XFD, Chief Riggsby will hang up his boots for the final time on 5/2. A retirement reception will be held on Monday 5/5 at Nicks Restaurant from 4-6 pm. Please stop by and thank Chief and wish him well in retirement!
This week we have had 2 members attending FDIC in Indianapolis. These members have taken a mixture of hands on class & lectures and will bring back that info to teach the remaining members of the Division. They are also able to attend the trade show and see the latest equipment.
For comparison to last year, in March 2024 we responded to 487 calls for a 27 call increase this year. At the end of March 2024 we were at 1,510 total calls for a 46 call increase for this year. Numbers in parentheses on the photo are year to date numbers for the current year.
Today we pause to remember our Brother Steve Helling. Steve left us too soon four years ago, but his legacy is carried on by those he trained and mentored. We miss you brother.

February run totals. February 2024 we responded to 498 calls (over 29 days) for a 21 call increase this year. At the end of Feb 2024 we were at 1023 total calls for a 19 call increase for this year. Numbers in parentheses are year to date numbers.
Earlier this morning, units from 'C' Shift responded to assist New Jasper Township Fire Department with a residential fire. Crews assisted with fire attack, search, safety, salvage, and overhaul operations.

Around 0630 this morning, crews from Company 31 assisted Xenia Township Fire Department with a barn fire on Stevenson Rd. The barn is a complete loss, no civilian or firefighter injuries reported. The cause remains under investigation.
