The main problem is that simply making a character part of a minority is not enough to make that character memorable or commercially appealing. If companies want these characters to resonate with a broad audience, they need to invest in strong writing, characterization, design, and storytelling, rather than treating their identity itself as the selling point. Too often, companies seem to expect representation alone to do the heavy lifting with minimal creative effort, and the result is the kind of shallow, forgettable characterization we have unfortunately become familiar with.
