Resident Evil Requiem – Review
Resident Evil Requiem proves once again why Capcom continues to dominate the survival horror genre. Blending psychological tension with brutal, methodical combat, Requiem feels like both a tribute to the franchise’s roots and a bold step forward.
From the opening moments, the atmosphere is suffocating. The environments are darker, more intimate, and layered with detail. Every hallway feels dangerous. Every door creak builds tension. Capcom leans heavily into dread this time around, scaling back over-the-top action in favor of slower, nerve-wracking exploration. It’s classic Resident Evil — but modernized.
The gameplay strikes a satisfying balance between survival and combat. Resources are scarce enough to keep you anxious, but never unfair. Enemy encounters feel deliberate and threatening, forcing you to think before you shoot. The new enemy designs are especially unsettling, pushing body horror back into the spotlight in a way longtime fans will appreciate.
Story-wise, Requiem delivers a more grounded and emotionally driven narrative. Without diving into spoilers, it explores the consequences of past events in the series rather than simply escalating the scale. There’s a heavier tone here — more reflective, more tragic — which makes the stakes feel personal instead of explosive.
Visually, this may be the most detailed Resident Evil yet. Character models are incredibly expressive, lighting is used masterfully, and the sound design deserves special praise. Subtle environmental audio does as much to create fear as any jump scare.
If there’s a drawback, it’s that some players looking for nonstop action may find the pacing slower than recent entries. But for survival horror fans, that deliberate pacing is exactly what makes it shine.
Final Verdict:
Resident Evil Requiem is a chilling, atmospheric return to survival horror form. It respects the franchise’s legacy while confidently carving its own identity. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, this is a must-play entry in the series.
Score: 9/10

The rumors about Xbox not being a priority under new leadership are honestly concerning.
After all the studio acquisitions, the push for Game Pass, and years of rebuilding the brand… now it feels uncertain again.
Is Xbox still fully committed to console gaming — or is it slowly becoming something else?

@Adrian_Knight21@CabooseEK Grand Theft Auto 5 broke 7 world records within 24 hours of its launch, and GTA 6 is set to have the biggest launch in gaming history. I'm not saying Resident Evil Requiem doesn't deserve GOTY—I'm just stating that no matter what year GTA 6 releases, it's going to win GOTY.
