Yes, 3D is difficult!
That was my perception with 3dsmax: that its normal to crash every 20 minutes, that corrupted scenes was part of the "process", that scattering is impossible without plugins.
This makes new people's journey into motion design intimidating. But I can assure you: things should not be like this. When software gives you inconsistency all the time, it is not normal.
I do not understand why Maxon refuses to listen to users. I do not understand why there are no daily builds with urgent hotfixes.
Is Maxon aware of the friction that comes between clients and us, not because of our skillset or laziness, but because of fundamental software issues?
I ve been one of biggest advocates for C4D since 2017, and been doing work that others thought it was done in Houdini. I ve been using it in all ways possible, paying for every plugin/script/utility that would help me do things that were supposed to be done within the software in the first place.
Many others are pushing boundaries on what the software is capable of. But at what expense at this point?
New users do not understand why things do not work, advanced users do not understand why things are not fixed.
I took a break from today's work just to rant.. realising that part of me being an art director, is not only cause I love design but also cause I do not want to deal with these production problems anymore.

Was honored to work on some of the renders for the new #C4D 2024 update! I did a little write up about the top new features over at @SchoolOfMotion! What features are you most excited about?

#C4D#cinema4d 2024 Thanks to the addition of Rigid Body Simulations to Cinema 4D's Unified Simulation System, solid objects can now interact with all simulation types in the scene - be it soft bodies, cloth, ropes or Pyro.
#C4D#cinema4d 2024 with the help of UpRes, creatives can use a lower resolution simulation for quicker turnarounds during the art direction and concepting stage of a project and then render the simulation in full quality for final output.
My latest Transparent Plastic tutorial spared some discussion if such a "foggy" shader is also possible in Redshift.
By using the old RS-Materials Sub-Surface.
Set the Attenuation to Extinction instead Absorption.
Here´s the RS Version very similar to Octane:

💿💿💿 Its finally here 💿💿💿
The Octane Compact Disc Shader Tutorial.
If you have something cool to show, made using this technique, I would love to see it 🙌
