🚨 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧: Somali referee Omar Artan wrote a message on the match ball to thank UEFA for choosing him:
✍️ “𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨, 𝗨𝗘𝗙𝗔. 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗬 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥. 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗠𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗖𝗨𝗣.”
Pure class. 👏❤️
Eight-year-old Ali is about to experience a night he'll never forget as he takes part in the UEFA Super Cup medal ceremony in Salzburg.
Born in Austria to Somali parents, Ali loves football for two simple reasons: "running and shooting." Now, he'll have a front-row seat to the action and the chance to meet some of the stars of the game.
Ali is supported by Breaking Grounds, a UEFA Foundation for Children partner in Austria that uses sport to promote inclusion, empowerment and social change.
Because football is more than a game. It's about opening doors, building confidence and creating opportunities for every child. 💙
