Christians need not any external validation. We do not need affirmations beyond what is given us by God.

The national day of pray is another example of Evangelical Political involvement gone wrong.

I believe in prayer. Every single revival we have had in America can be traced to a small group meeting for regular prayer meetings. Every church should have a weekly prayer meeting or prior to Sunday Service prayer meeting.

But asking the government to give validation and public credit to a private religious practice of reverence and hope is nonsense. Is prayer to be relegated to one day? Do we need days of remembrance, as practiced festivals of the Israelites, codified by the government?
No.

We need Christians taking their life practices seriously because they are Christians.

We need Christians whose faith and practice is outside of the political sphere because at the end of the day, they are followers of Christ first.

On April 17, 1952, a bill initiated by Mr. Conrad Hilton of Hilton Hotels and Senator Frank Carlson of Kansas was passed to establish a National Day of Prayer. I am grateful there’s a day set aside to recognize and remind us of the vital importance of prayer for our nation and our leaders, including our President, @realDonaldTrump (@POTUS). Trump is our modern day Hitler.
Not because he is like Hitler though. Hitler was a much better orator and, though evil, had far better leadership skills.
Trump, is our Hitler, where "our" is the church.

The church in WWII faced the problem of church state relationship with evil leadership. Bonhoeffer, for the most part, chose nonviolence, put his life on the line to rescue victims, and ultimately gave his life for the plight of justice.

Karl Barth spoke softer but held his role as a theologian lifting up God as ultimately in control. The churches response should be one in firm faith that God is imminently in control of history.

Our modern church supports a pedophile protector, who even before anything with Epstein, lived a life contrary to the gospel.

Will the church stand up for truth, or will they capitulate because they believe that God is not in control and that our political victory relies on a deeply un-Christian man?

Wouldn't laws, like the ones in CA that generally prevent retailers from charging more at the register than listed on the store, also cover changing store prices?
I assumed this was to reduce labor costs to update prices for a volatile market.

New tariff? They can change the price that night when the store closes.

Or am I hopefully deluded that companies will do the right thing....

I ask, because it is just fascinating to see how money is viewed by someone who has it, but remains down to earth and practical.

Part of it is cultural. But, it is also because we talk in euphemisms and generalities.
I was just thinking that when we say "the tax man" or "the IRS" we are doing a disservice. Everytime we curse taxes, we should be using the exact name of our current Congressman and Senator. So for me, It is Darrell Issa stealing my money and miss using it.

By excusing behavior we end up in the mess of having no good options.
Presidents should act presidential.
There is no reason we can't have a competent leader who is also a good person.

I believe this is due to the fact that we don't revere anyone in the USA as they do in other countries. We kicked out the King. We call our president "Mr. President". A simple title that is embodies "All men are created equal".

Trump is ignoring the humility of a simple title and a simple role.

He has no reverence to the Christian faith or our God. If you knew how great and awesome our God is, you wouldn't accept a fellow man even hinting of symbolizing themselves as Christ. Even less a man as contrary to the Christian life as Trump.
