Update: I was accepted!!
I'll be at #plzdontkillus! Anyone else who's going my DMs are open & I'd love to say hi. Can't wait to meet @parsons_tor@Aella_Girl and everyone else there.
In the meantime, here's a quick get to know me thread π§΅
This was my plzdontkillus application btw
Whatever the results, ty to @allTheYud@Aella_Girl @tparsons_tor and everyone else involved for setting this up.
I tried 30mg adhd meds - too strong
I tried 20mg - too weak
But I'm not allowed to go on 25smg, unless I pay a doctor Β£150 to write me a slip saying 'let's try 25'
All medicine should be over the counter for people with an IQ above 120
Is there any space/community for Europeans who are rationalist adjacent?
Cause the amount of times I've heard my Eurobros say 'god I'd love to move to sanfran to be in the comunity more' is insane - I feel like there's a huge untapped interested for founding a community HERE
I've always been a dreamer for the future. The biggest thing my ADHD meds did was turn those dreams from a fantasy coping mechanism for failure in the present to real planning.
I genuinely can't express how spiritually freeing it is to say I'll do a thing then do it.
Children should be texting,& building in minecraft & partying & watching shows & coding mods & arguing in fandoms & walking with podcasts & learning instruments & getting into drama & grinding RPGs & learning history.
Not staring at an endless feed of nothing.
Couldn't ask for a better example of why this policy was no needed.
Imagine a CHILD, who's imagination is supposed to be running wild, who's reaction to getting more free time is bored apathetic indifference because their brain is that addicted to slop

I'm on draft 2 of a paper arguing for a new classification of Autism within the DSM - I'm arguing for a model half way between the 'disorder' and 'neurodivergence' models.
If anyone wants to read and give me feedback hmu
Politics aside, the fact that they wanted to put on an event in front of the white house, but there was construction on the lower half of the building so they had to put up a fucking carboard cutout is objectively hilarious
nobody understands you actually have to be a man to have male privilege. a man of status and money.
what fucking privilege does a dysphoric self hating depressed girl rotting in her room all day pre transition with no money no connections have?
thats canon tgirl experience btw.
@AFkokogems@BrandiKruse@ADFLegal sports DO imply consent. if you take a boxing match you're consenting to getting punched. If you take a wressling match you're consenting to getting your crotch grabbed, face sat on, and 100 other things.
As someone who actually grapples, seeing terfs try and spin this case into sexual assault is hilarious. Because grabbing your opponent's crotch is literally just part of wressling.
if you don't like that, pick a different sport
NEW: Prosecutors say they will not charge trans wrestler with alleged sexual assault of Kallie Keeler because of "case law concerning consent in athletic contests." If only the state of Washington had given Kallie the option to consent to being touched by a male.
The people who post things like this, couldn't give less of a fuck about European culture. They just larp as an excuse to push ethnat racism. Here's what a genuine love of European traditional music looks like.
"white people have no culture"
Meanwhile ACTUAL white culture:
Do people not know that metaphysics exists??? like weather or not X constitutes Y necessarily requires an at least partially metaphysical answer
What is sex? it it real? if so how real? if so what is it's referent?
Like are you just uninterested in those questions?
Prime example of how most peoples minds work on associations rather than propositions
This person clearly wanted to express that straight pride people don't like women, just like gay men, and vaguely associated venns with the concept of 2 things having something in common
Academics write for each other, not for people.
Steven Pinker has spent over four decades doing the opposite, and thinks current academic writing is "enormous wasted effort."
"There's an awful lot of brilliant work, really smart people in academia. Why are they doing it? Just to entertain each other? Taxpayers pay for it. It should be accessible. Why should I have to read a paragraph five or six times?
It gets under my skin when academics devote so much brainpower into the scholarship and then just blow off the essential task of letting the world know what you've done."
Pokemon is the highest grossing media franchise of all time btw, and it's last game had a budget of around 13 million.
There is 0 reason it shouldn't be getting GTA level funding
