Nah, these people shut them down and unplugged them at the end of the day, which is fine until the BIOS battery drops below 3V. Then it can corrupt data and prevent booting until you reflash the chip and replace the battery. We've only had this happen 5 times in 3 years. But there's a second major risk now that SSDs are everywhere: if you unplug the PC after shutdown every day, disable write caching in the advanced properties of every drive so the system writes directly to disk. This avoids data loss from a bad C-state causing a partial off state during power-down. I've had brand new NVMe drives reach 500k power cycles in under a month, dropping health metrics from 100% to around 40% despite almost zero actual read/write use.
