My father was a champion for justice, a public servant with a deep commitment to country and love of democracy. He was an Attorney General, a Senator, a Presidential candidate, an athlete and an author. But most importantly, he was a devoted husband and a loving father.

He was fun, funny, competitive and always fair. He taught us to read and learn, to think and to see things from other perspectives. He taught us to care and inspired us to do what we could for others. In the short, precious time we had with him, we gathered a trove of eternal memories, values and life lessons that guide me to this day.
