@ProfHockeyYT “National” writers, both US/CAN, do not watch the teams on the west coast… especially ANA and SJS.
That’ll soon change, especially with Macklin here… but right now it’s painfully obvious
@bDoddleS It’s a hard, but great spot to be. We just don’t know where the organization sees guys like McQ, Pettersson, Masse and how their potential roles may affect roster construction under the cap. Where is the money best spent?
@bDoddleS Agree, but based on the current roster and players in house idk that a 2C makes the line up more potent than a 2LW. We have a lot of facilitators not a lot of scorers.
Considering cost I think it’s a fair question to consider… Larkin/Thomas or Forsberg/Knies
@MightyMcQueen95@DucksNPucks Killorn is gone after this season
Kreider should be gone if we could convince someone to take some of that money…
Next season isn’t as important as the following 2-3
@MightyMcQueen95@DucksNPucks I think they have to decide how much they like McQueen and if they see him as a 2C. If so, the need is at LW. Our PP could use it and it gives us the extra threat in the T6… Granny could play 2C for the next two seasons as needed
@bDoddleS Defensively, the 3 pairs SHOULD be locked up to term after this offseason.
Trouba (RD1) RD2 via trade/FA. Luneau (RD3)
Lacombe (LD1) Zell/Minty(LD2), Hinds (LD3) Solberg (AHL)
@bDoddleS Realistically, we are looking to fill 9 Forwards. Already there are 6 signed to term / controllable:
Cutter (LW1), Leo (1C), Terry (1RW)
Mason (LW3 or 2C), Poehls (3C), Beckett (2RW)
Do you believe 2C is more important than 2LW with this core in place? And with McQueen on deck
@MikeBartner Question, has he ever been on a roster that was above average defensively?
GMs will prioritize offensive skill over defense this early in the career.
181pts through 304 G is pretty damn solid (++ on FO and SO). Things can change defensively as the team gets more competitive
@NHLTradeAlert@Jake_B_27@SilfverStache You’ve nailed the easy narrative, but clearly don’t watch the Ducks.
Every team wants a young controllable C. VB will listen to offers - it’s his job. Ducks aren out shopping McT
Why do the Ducks want a 1st round pick when they threw theirs away for J Carlson?
@ZegrasTrevor I think you talk to Granny and ask his thoughts lol teammates for Suomi
Best case you find another scoring option on the 3rd line and 2PP
Worst case you find another healthy scratch
@ZegrasTrevor Hes not getting moved unless it’s for a current all star. His name pops up because EVERY team wants a C. McT has been good from the draw and is awesome in the SO…. of course teams are calling. If VB didn’t listen to the offers, he’s not doing his job
@PatrickCPresent@TheHockeyNews It’s more likely that he’s traded than bought out. I hope he’s traded, but wouldn’t be upset if he came back and took Viels spot on the 4th line. I think last year was a tough season for everything he went through rather than the diminished skill. He can still make an impact
@SaltySJWt3ars@Skirmish3184191@iamhim1734@nhltraderumours lol no picks and shitty players signed to term. How do they even begin to offload players without eating 50% of the deals.
They’ll have space next season if they don’t bring back Stone. But Dorofeyev will get north of $9m AAV thanks to Schmaltz. $10+ if Gauthier gets don’t first
This would be an interesting piece for #FlyTogether He can play 2C or LW and would be a massive upgrade over Kreider. High energy + good shot. However, you’ll have to outbid MTL or any other team looking for that 2C spot. 4x$6m?
Hypothetical 2nd line:
Granny - Boone - Sennekce
#CBJ F Boone Jenner has changed agents and is now represented by Pat Morris of Newport, per @Aportzline.
The 32-year old is a pending UFA.
