Another giant leap for open-source Large Language Models!
In 15 hours and for a few hundred dollars, the Colossal-AI team built a high-performance Chinese LLaMA-2 model that outperforms everyone across multiple evaluation benchmarks.
They open-sourced the model and weights and wrote about their strategy.
And it's a big deal!
We've had two options so far:
1. Use out-of-the-box, general Large Language Models (like ChatGPT)
2. Fine-tune these general models
Now, we have a third option:
Construct a lightweight domain-specific model and then fine-tune it for specific needs. And do this for very little money!
Here is the blog post detailing everything you need to know:

It's incredible the progress the open-source community is making around these models.
If these models keep improving and becoming more accessible, do you think a closed model like GPT-4 has any chance?
TRUTHS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT BUYING CARS IN KENYA
1) Mombasa is good for foreign used vehicles & not locally used units that have been used in the city for more than 5 years. Reason being that the salty conditions here lead vehicle parts to corrode & rust faster. The water used for underwash makes it even worse.
Nairobi is good for second hand cars as the weather & water conditions are not salty. The only challenge may arise when you are sold a salvage car as a non accident car. Do backgroud checks through AKI IMIDS . Vehicles with a past accident history are captured & recorded here. Local insurance companies can access the data for you.
2) Some high end cars sold in Nairobi are salvaged accident cars from Australia. These cars are shipped to the UAE to garages that recondition them for sale in african markets to gullible & unknowing clients. If a vehicle's inspection centre reads UAE on the QISJ website kindly avoid such a car. If you have to buy do so having agreed to buy a salvaged accident cars. Members of parliament & individuals who do not want to spend much have in the past been sold such units unknowingly. They continue to believe that they saved alot. Months later front grill & side components of these high end luxury vehicles fall off. The main culprit is the landcruiser zx series & the Lexus LX570.
3) Low mileage can be a red flad on a foreign used unit. These cars probably stalled for a while in japan due to mechanical issues. Once half sorted they are sold to African markets as low mileage cars. High mileage is bad too so go for relatively reasonable mileage i.e anything below 150,000km is okay for petrol & hybrids while anything below 300,000km is fine for diesel cars
