I think we're closer to the first AI nuclear incident than we might want to believe.

If these frontier models are reverse engineering software and firmware on release day etc, considering the exponential growth we know AI is capable of, then I believe that an extreme event nuclear or otherwise is right around the corner.

The scary part is, even if something terrible happens I do not think the brakes will ever be put on AI, as its the new arms race between world powers. Neither side will trust the other to apply the gaurdrails and AI development will continue behind closed doors.
