Neoliberalism has been exposed as a complete sham.

Wealthy countries that preached free markets to the rest of the world are now passionately embracing protectionism.

Scholars like Quinn Slobodian have been proven completely correct when pointing out that the neoliberal project was never simply about “freeing” markets. It was secretly about constructing a world order that locked in the dominance of the West.

Now, the West is dropping the pretence, unapologetically embracing economic nationalism and their desire to preserve Western dominance in the world economy.

Ghanaian children are taught that hard work leads to success. Many of their parents worked hard their entire lives and died without security. Hard work inside a broken structure produces exhaustion not prosperity. The lesson should include the structure.
