One of the many unique things about CKB is that it's the only Layer 1 that addresses the state explosion problem all blockchains face, head-on.

It does this by:

1️⃣ Bounding the state growth by tying it to the CKB tokens, where 1 CKB = 1 byte of data on the blockchain.
2️⃣ Privatizing the state space. Cells are first-class assets directly owned and managed by users, meaning the users (state occupiers) are always incentivized to optimize and occupy as little state as possible to avoid paying excessive state rent.
3️⃣ Introducing state rent via the secondary issuance mechanism.
