Trudeau’s resignation & Parliament prorogation until March 24 raises questions about the capital gains tax increase.

CRA will still collect taxes at the higher rate for post-June 24, 2024 gains, despite no Royal Assent.

Taxpayers can file at the old rate but risk paying the difference + interest later.
