The dual CME from the M4/M1 flare events on March 28th has yet to arrive, however energetic proton levels are gradually rising. This is a sign that the shock front is still approaching.
BREAKING NEWS: The X flare did produce a coronal mass ejection. As you can see it is a halo event so is probably heading our way. This will be bigger than the events we will see from the M flares earlier. There will be some spectacular auroral displays, perhaps to lower latitudes
Official CME tracking model now available with Earth passage predicted for March 31st. A moderate (G2) geomagnetic storm watch will be in place. Aurora sky watchers should be alert during the next 48-72 hours.
@theauroraguy@SolarHam but if its not funny for everyone... is it really a joke, or is it harassment? Not that I agree with Will's choices last night... but his wife has been vocal about her health struggles and Chris took a cheap shot himself.

Thanks to powerful technology and sophisticated processing @NSF’s Inouye Solar Telescope has given the world a striking new sunspot image. With details as small as 20km across, the Inouye had its eyes on the #Sun as @NASASun PSP approached the corona #NSFFunded#ParkerPerihelion
🚨Science at the #InouyeSolarTelescope has begun!🚨
The U.S. @NSF Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope commenced the first science observation yesterday, marking a historic milestone and signaling a new era in solar observations: https://t.co/zUeKrpTE5U @AURADC
AN M2 FLARE IN PROGRESS: The flare seemed to be from region AR2958 but there is not a lot of data available at the moment to confirm that. An M2 flare would be the 10th brightest flare so far during solar cycle 25. Expect more big flares in the coming days - the Sun has woken up!
